This Moritsugu belongs to Jyojyo saki ranging.
The blade was polished
Habaki : Gold single foiled Habaki.
Blade length : 73.3 cm or 28.85 inches.
Sori : 1.6 cm or 0.62 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.11cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.26 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period. Around Kanbun era.
Shape : Regular size Katana with shallow Sori. Kanbun Shinto style Katana.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached.
It is regretted that there are Kizu and Fukure at three parts on the front and back side.
Hamon : Nie Deki Sudare ba. It is rustic hamon. Boshi is round end.
Special feature : There are Kyo Tanba and Osaka tanba in Tanba no kami Yoshimichi.
This piece is from Osaka tanba 2nd generation.
The Sori is shallow and is the shape of Kanbunshinto.
It is unique Sudareba.
It is a shame that there is some small kizu in the ha and fukure.
There is cutting test gold inlay engraving Futatsu Do Jyo Kanane Futatsu do Kanbun Kanoeinu June 26th.
Tsuba : Oval shape iron tsuba. There is signature Umetada Muneyoshi.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo Muji with moon and bird design engraved and inlaid with gold.
Saya : Black Roiro saya
Menuki : Shakudo plate with beetle design engraved. It is very rare design.
