The blade was polished .
Blade length : 74.2 cm or 29.21 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.7 inches.
Width at the hamachi : 3.03 cm or 1.19 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 2.03 cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Showa period.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick long and also longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Koniedeki Gunome Choji midare hamon.
In Ha, there are ashi and Yo and also Kinsuji sunagashi work.

Special feature : Ikkansai Shigetsugu was born in 1886 in Shizuoka pref. As a nephew of Miyairi Ikkansai Shigetoshi who was also a swordsmith. Shigetsugu learned under his uncle and Morioka Masayoshi. Shigetsugu went to Tokyo in 1903 and entered to the Tokiwa-Matsu Token Kenkyu-sho the Toyama house. Shigetsugu became a chief swordsmith and made several special swords to present. Shigetsugu spent his life to revive and passing down the traditional method of tempering Japanese sword. Shigetsugu passed away in 1966, aged 80.
Miyairi Akihira and Tsukamoto Okimasa were his famous excellent pupils. Later Miyairi Akihira became a preserver of Important Intangible Cultural Assets, popularly known as Living National Treasures. Tsukamoto Okimasa became Shigetsugu's son-in-law but died while still young.
This blade is long and active splendid work.
I think this item is one of the best quality.
