Tanto in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Bizen koku ju Osafune Sukesada saku
Eisho 7nen 8 gatsu hi (August 1510)

The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold single foiled habak
Blade length : 19.8cm or 7.79 inches.
Sori : 0cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 1.86 cm or 0.73 inches.
Kasane : 0.59 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Muromachi period Eisho 7(1510)
Shape : It is rather small size tanto with long nakago.
The blade length is rather small. There are bonji character engraved on both the front and back of the ha.
Jitetsu : Itame hada with mixture of mokume hada. It is well grained with jinie attached. There are utsuri seen.
Hamon : Nie structure, gunome midare line. boshi line is shapr end with some burn downs. There are many sunagashi and kinsuji works.

Special feature : This sword has strong signature engraved. It is not a mass produced sword but it was made carefully.
It is much recommended piece for the well grained jigane and excellent hamon.
The sword will be even gorgeous if it is matched with koshirae.
