The blade was polished.
Habaki: Silver single foil habaki
Blade length : 28.83 cm or 11.35 inches.
Sori : 0.3 cm or 0.11 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.64 cm or 1.03 inches.
Kasane : 0.47 cm or 0.18 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is an ordinary sori,nice with curvature. It is in nice shape.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with some flaw of masa hada.
Hamon : Nie base suguha with mix of konie. It is hitatsura style.

Special feature : This blade is mumei blade but attributed as Shimada or HIromasa.
Shimada school was active from early Muromachi period.
There are many soshu den style with hitatsub a style pieces.
The characteristic of Shimada school is well seen in this piece.
Boushi is sharp end with yakisage and hamachi.

Koshirae : Aikuchi style koshirae
Tsuba : Fuchikashira : Kojiri : Kurigata : It is shibuichi plate with pattern of Karakusa pattern.
Saya : Black roiro saya with phoenix, sparrow and butterfly engraved and inlayed in gold lacquer.
Menuki : Silver with bird design engraved.
Kozuka : On silver plate, flower design is engraved.
Kogatana : There is a signature Motohira.
Kogai : Silver chop-stick like kogai.
