Tanto in Shirasaya

Signature : There is a signature of Mutsu no kami Daido

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 27.5cm or 10.82 inches.
Sori : 0.2cm or 0.07 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.51cm or 0.98 inches.
Kasane : 0.55cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : There is Gomabashi at the front side
and bori on the back. There are slight sakisori.
It is wide and thick tanto.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
There is clear hada.
Hamon :Nie ground suguha style kogunome midare.
There are Sunanagashi, Kinsuji works.

Special feature : Mutsu no kami Daido is a sword smith of Owari province.
He works in late Muromachi period. We cannot guarantee this signature.
But this blade was made around late Muromachi period.
We think that this blade is Mino or Owari.
