Jidai(era) : Late Edo Period

Special feature: Round shape iron tsuba, with mokume(wood) pattern engraved.
There are also a design of three birds flying around. Those birds are expressed by engraved gold(horigane).
From the pattern on the iron, it could be attributed as a piece from Inshu Suruga school. It is in great condition.
