Signature : Bisyu Osafune Tadamitsu.
Eisyo 5 nen 8 Gatsuhi.(1504,August)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 56.4 cm or 56.4 inches.
Sori : 1.82 cm or 0.71 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.65 cm or 1.04 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.82cm or 0.71 inches.
Kasane : 0.6 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Middle to late Muromachi period.1504.
Shape : The blade is regular size with deep sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame had and mmokume had mixed with jinie attach.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha with small ash work.

Special feature : The blade is genuine but a hagire on the 30cm from Hamachi area.
Bisyu Osafune Tadamitsu was working at middle to late Muromachi period.
From middle Muramachi to Eisyo era, the Katateuchi style are very popular because the war style changed to underground style.
So the samurai need right and easy to handle swords which is called Katateuchi style.
This sword was used by high ranking army soldier during world war time.
The condition of the Koshirae is pretty nice.
Even thou the blade has Hagire but the sword itself nice and good work.

History : At Eisyo 5th year, Nagashiro castle was built at Mikawa province.
Koshirae : Conductor sword.
