Wakizashi: Boshu Ju Kiyoyasu saku

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature: Boshu Ju Kiyoyasu saku

The blade was polished.
Habaki: Copper Foiled Single Habaki
Blade length : 30.6cm or 12.05inches.
Sori : 0.5cm or 0.12inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.46cm or 0.97inches.
Kasane : 0.67cm or 0.26inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : It is wide and thick firm sunnobi tnato.
Jitetsu :Itame hada with mixture of nashime hada. There is jinie attached with chikei appearing.
Hamon : Consisted in nie structure, it is gunome midare with ashi well attached.
There is fine sunagashi and kinsuji appearing. Boushi is sharp end.

Special feature : Boshu ju Kiyoyasu is a swordsmith from Suou province.
He was successful during late Muromachi period. This sword has some curve towards
the tip and is rather thick. It is itame hada with mixture of najime hada with clear and soft jigane.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Round shape thick shakudo tsuba covered with gold rim.
Wave and dragon design is engraved and inlayed with gold.
Fuchi Kashira: Shakudo nanakoji plated with flower design engraved and inlayed with gold.
Menuki: Shakudo plate with flower design engraved and dot inlayed in gold.
Saya: Gold powder nashiji plate with familycrest engraved and inlayed with gold.
Kozuka: On fine shakudo nanakoji plate,
wave and moon is engraved and inlayed with gold and silver.
