Wakizashi: Bushu Shitahara ju Masashige

Signature: Bushu Shitahara ju Masashige

Shinto: Chuujyosaku: Musashi
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold colored Habaki.
Blade length : 46.8cm or 18.43inches.
Sori : 1.0cm or 0.39inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.9cm or 1.14inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25inches.
Era : Middle of the Edo period.
Shape : There are small machiokuri. Mihaba and Kasane is regular with long kissaki.
It is a nice shape wakizashi,.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada with jinie attached. The jitetsu is well grained.
Hamon : Nie base, gnome mixture. Sunagashi is well seen inside the ha.

Special feature : Masashige is called one of the Shitahara sword makers.
Masashige had been succeeded several generations.
We can't say the blade is which generation.
Generally speaking, Shitahara sword makers made suguha and komidare hamon which is cut well sword and in shade compare with other swords.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : There is openwork on iron tsuba. It is an openwork of Kikkamon(Chrysanthemum crest).
Fuchikashira :Fuchi: Iron base with gold inlay with design of autumn insects.
Saya : Kawarinuri saya
Menuki : Toujin is engraved with gold inlay.
Kozuka: On the Shakudo nanako plate, a person is engraved.
Kogatana: signature: Cho? Kami Fujiwara Morimichi.
