Wakizashi in Shirasaya(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Echigo Kami Kanesada(2nd generation)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Saijo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled double Habaki.
Blade length : 54.1 cm or 21.29 inches.
Sori : 1.6 cm or 0.62 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi : 3.16 cm or 1.24 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.42 cm or 0.95 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Kanbun era.
Shape : Wide and thick Wakizashi. Boshi is lomg.
Jigane : Ko-Itame hada well grained with Jinie attach. The Jigane is clear.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha with thick Nioikuchi and Gunome Midare, Doran-Ha.
In Ha, there are Sunagashi and Kinusji. Boshi is round shape.

Special feature: Echigo (No) Kami Kanesada the Second forged this katana.
It is said that he was born in Mino or Kochi province. He learned
under Kanesada the First at Osaka and later became a son-in-law.
The Second was superior to the First and ranked at O-waza-mono.
Excellent worknanship was on the same level with Tsuda Sukehiro and Inoue Shinkai.
This is masterpiece in the Kanesada's blades. The blade is healthy and nice shape.
This blade is compareble to NBTHK Juyo sword.
