Wakizashi in Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Uda)

The blade was polished.
Habaki: Copper single foiled habaki
Blade length : 52.7cm or 20.74inches.
Sori : 1.2cm or 0.47inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.4cm or 0.94inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.84cm or 0.72inches.
Kasane : 0.45cm or 0.18 inches.
Era : Early Muromachi period.
Shape : It is wide and quite small size shape wakizashi.
There is some sori. Kissaki is longer than average.
Jitetsu :It is blackish jigane with mixture of well grained itame hada.
Hamon : Konie structure gunome midare line with activities such as

Special feature : he founder of Uda school started
from Kamakura period by Konyudo Kunimitsu.
His students Kunifusa,Kunimune were working at Nanbokucyo period
and this school kontinued Muromachi period and Edo period.
The swords which were made Kamamura to Nanbokucyo period is called
Kouda school and Muromachi period is called just Uda school.

Koshirae :
Tsuba :Round shape shakudo plate with gold covered rim(Akao School Piece)
Fuchikashira :Shakudo nanakoji plate with design of brush engraved and inlayed with gold
Seppa: On copper plate gold plate is wrapped.
Saya :Lampet shell sparkles with black stripe painted urushi lacwuer saya.
Menuki : On plant design,
gold gilt(It may be solid gold however we are unsure of the details). It is nice work.
