Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 41.0 cm or 16.14 inches.
Sori : 1.1 cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi :2.82 cm or 1.11 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Middle to Late Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is Shobu zukuri style wide and deep sori nice looking shape.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attach and blackish jigane which is called Hokkokumono.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare and double hamon with deep nioikuchi.

Special feature : The founder of the Uda school started from Kamakura period and continued to late Muromachi period and Edo period.
Generally Uda school is blackish jigane and visible to see the texture.
This blade is Shobu zukuri style healthy blade.

Historical background: 1489 (Entoku 1st year) Ashikaga Yoshimasa built Ginkakuji at Kyoto.
