Wakizashi: Soshu Ju Tsunahiro

Wakizashi in Shirasaya. (NBTHK Hozon paper)
Signature : Soshu Ju Tsunahiro
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword Soshu Ju Tsunahiro belongs to Jojo saku ranking.

The blade is polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : Single brass habaki.
Blade length : 40.4 cm or 15.9 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi :3.13 cm or 1.23 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period to Edo period Keicho era.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with Sori, Hirauchi style Wakizashi.
There is Soshu style engraving So Kurikara-bori on one side of the blade and at the other side, Gamobashi is engraved.
Jigane : Itame-hada and Mokume-hada mixed with Jinie attach and texture of Chikei work
Hamon : Nioideki Choji-midare and small Gunome-midare mixed. Boshi is round style and Yakisage.

Special feature : Tsunahiro has named himself 'Hiromitsu' then 'Masahiro'. He moved to Sagami Province at late Muromachi period by the order of Daimyo Hojo Ujitsuna and the word 'Tsuna' was given to his name.
Tsunahiro has succeed Soshu-den style at later Muromachi period and he was famous for the Hitatsura Hamon.
This sword is beautiful texture Jigane and Nioideki Chouji-midare Hamon.
The sword is very healthy and nice Soshu style Horimono (engraves) gorgeous blade.
