Wakizashi : Yamashiro Daijo Minamoto Kunishige(2nd generation)

Wakizashi in Shirasaya(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Yamashiro Daijo Minamoto Kunishige(2nd generation)

Shinto: Chujosaku: Musashi province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Kunishige belongs to Jyo-Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki:silver single habaki ganseki habaki.
Blade length : 48.2 cm or 18.97 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.08 cm or 1.21 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.15 cm or 0.84 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era :Middle Edo period, around Jyokyo era.(1684-1687)
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu :KoiItame hada well grained with much Jinie attach beautiful texture.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Chu-Suguha with thick Nioikuchi.

Special feature : The Mizuta Kunishige school started
from late Muromachi to Edo period. There is a Kitae-ware on Kissaki part.
But it is inconspicuous.
This blade has active wild thick nioikuchi Hamon and nice Nie.
The first generation is Mizuta Ootsuki Ichizo Kunishige
and this sword is 2nd generation
Ootsuki Denshichiro who is called Edo mizuta.
The blade is deep nioikuchi nice active suguha hamon.
