Wakizashi in Shirasaya

Signature : Bishu Ju Fujiwara Sadatsugu

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 52.5 cm or 20.66 inches.
Sori : 0.7 cm or 0.27 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.94 cm or 1.15 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.09 cm or 0.82 inches.
Kasane : 0.69 cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Edo period Circa Kanbun(1661-1672)
Shape : It is wide and thick regular style wakizashi. It is shallow sori Kanbun Shinto shape wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached. There is fine chikei works seen.
Hamon : Consisted in nie structure, there is nezumi ashi (rat feet ashi) attached. Boushi is round ended.

Special feature : Bishu Jyu Fujiwara Sadatsugu is a student of Kawachi no kami Sadayuki.
He is said to moved to Owari to meet the needs of samurai at the time.
This sword is calm suguha sword but has focused on the sharpness of the blade due to the influence of Kotetsu and Edo Shin-shin to sword.
It is unique Kanbun style shallow sori piece.
