Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae and Kae saya (NBTHK Hozon paper) (NBTHK Hozon Tousougu Paper for Koshirae(black roiro saya))

Signature : Yasuyuki (Ashu: Kaifu)

Habaki:gold and silver foiled double habaki.
Sue Koto: Awa
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 41.96 cm or 16.51 inches.
Sori : 0.75 cm or 0.29 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.85 cm or 1.12 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi Tensho period(1573-1592)
Shape : It is ordinary width and thickness. Bouhi is engraved in front and back.
It is long hirauchi wakizashi.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained. The surface is quite clear that the texture could be well observed.
There are shirake utsuri(white mist figure) on the ji.
Hamon : NIe base suguha. There are many ashi(feet).
There are delicate sunagashi and kinsuji works.

Special feature : Yasu Yuki is a sword smith from Ashu(Awa) province.
Kaifu School was born in Awa province in the nambokucho period.
The jigane is clear and strong. Hamon is
suguha base that reveals the feeling of a aged sword.
This piece is a hadamono(the steel is made with several different type of metal.).
It has fine jigane and hamon.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : It is rather thick round shape iron Tsuba. The rim is standing up style.
There are Shichiyo-mon(family crest).
Saya : Black roiro saya and replacement saya(Wakasanuri saya)
Menuki : Shakudou base with an Li Bai(Chinese poet) riding a horse engraved and inlayed with gold.
Kozuka : Shakudou nanakoji plate with shell engraved and inlayed with gold.
Kogatana : The signature is engraved as Kokki Irei.
Kae(Replacement) saya: Black roiro saya.
