Wakizashi in Koshirae (Koshirae: NBTHK Hozon Tosogu)

Signature: Echizen koku Kanenori

The blade was polished .
Blade length : 31.3 cm or 12.32 inches.
Sori : 0.2 cm or 0.07 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.82 cm or 1.11 inches.
Kasane : 0.45 cm or 0.17 inches.
Era : early Edo period. about Genwa era.
Shape : This blade is regular size Hirazukuri style Wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Itame hada nagare with Jinie attach. And Shirake Utsuri appear.
Hamon : Koniedeki Suguha, Uchinoke. And double Ha.

Special feature : Kanenori was swordsmith in early Edo period, and he was son of Mino Kanenori,
He forged mainly Koniedeki Suguha.

This blade’s Jitetsu has rough surface on the Jitetsu, and Tsukamaki is little chipped.
But I think signature is good.
Koshirae : (NBTHK Hozon Tosogu)
Tsuba : Shakudo round Tsuba. And rim is lined and colored with gold color.
Fuchikashira : On the Shakudo nanako plate, Ise-ebi (Japanese lobster) and wave is engraved with gold color Iroe and gold and silver inlay.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Menuki : Made with Solid gold. Human is engraved.
