Signature : Bizen Koku Osafune Sukesada (Signature not guarantee)
Tensho 4 Nen 8 Gatsu Hi (August 1576)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to regular saku ranking.

The blade is polished.
Habaki : Single silver Habaki making an acute angle.
Blade length : 69.2 cm or 27.2 inches.
Sori : 2.15 cm or 0.85 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the Hamachi : 3.20 cm or 1.26 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.20 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane :0.31 cm or 0.12 inches.
Era : Later Muromachi period.
Shape : Wide blade with standard thickness, curve and long Kissaki.
Jigane : Itame-hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Niedeki deep Nioikuchi with shallow Notare-Hamon. Sunagashi and Kinsuji can be seen on surface.

Special feature: There are mass producted blades called ‘Kazuuchi’ and the blade with signature with secular name engraved for Osafune Sukesada blades forged after Eiroku era(1558~).
The blade is one of mass products thogh having healthy blade with good Jigane texture can be seen well. Skilled swordsmiths like Sinjuro, Toushiro, Nakagawashichiroemon and Takagi Shichibe were active at same ages.

Koshirae :
Saya : Russet colored Ishimeji Saya.
Tsuba : Phoenix and hollyhocks carved on Shakudo Nanakoji plate with gold color.
Menuki : Dragon carved on Yamagane plate.
Fuchi-kashira : Silver colored Iroe remaining on iron plate.
Kojiri : Hollyhock colored on brass plate.
