Katana : Echizen Jyu Harima Daijyo Fujiwara Shige (cut shortened) Taka

Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae. (NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature : Echizen Jyu Harima Daijyo Fujiwara Shige(cut shortened) Taka.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.

Shinto : Cyujyo saku ranking : Echizen province.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 69.8 cm or 27.48 inches.
Sori : 0.7 cm or 0.27 inches.
Mekugi :  2
Width at the hamachi : 3.10 cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.26 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.7 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era.
Shape : The blade is about 6cm Machiokuri and suriage.
The signature is mentioned Echizen Jyu Harima Daijyo Fujiwara Shige(Taka)
Jigane : Itame hada well grained with jinie attach and blackish jignae.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare with koashi work.

Special feature : Shige taka continued to several generation from the first geberation.
First generation looks Koto blade.
From 2nd to later generation Hamon is regular Gunome midare hamon with well grained Jignane.
The blade is suriage and Machiokuri but healthy blade.

Koshirae :
Saya : Black ishime ji saya.
Tsuba : On the roun¥d shape iron tsuba, waves and dragon are engraved.
Menuki : Bamboo leaves are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : On the iron plate, waves and a dragon are engraved.
