Katana in Gunto Koshirae

Signature : Mumei (Showa Sword Mino)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 64.8cm or 25.51 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.87cm or 1.12 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.02cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.75cm or 0.29 inches.
Era : Showa period war time
Shape : It is wide and thick katana. It is Suriage style.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained. It is Muji style work.
Hamon : Nie Deki gunome midare with mixture of Choji midare.
There are fine kinsuji and sunagashi activities mixed.

Special feature : This work is at first glance suriage machiokuri.
It has the feeling of Muromachi period works.
If observed well, ther jigane is still young though.
It is most likely a work of Mino. There is much kinsuji works in the ha.
It is nice piece to look carefully at.
