The blade was polished.
Blade length : 70.60 cm or 27.79 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 4
Width at the hamachi : 3.12 cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.29 cm or 0.90 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape : Wide and rather thick blade with large Kissaki.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada and Mokume Hada mixed with Jinie and Chikei.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha with Uchiyoke style Hamon mixed.
There are Tobiyaki. Boshi is Notare Sansaku style. In Ha, there are Yo.

Special feature : Shimada Gisuke(Yoshisuke) is one of the best well known sword maker in Suruga province.
First generation Gisuke was a student of the Sosyu masahiro.
From the shape, this blade was made around late Muromachi period
and Keicho Shinto style. It is difficult to judge the generation of Gisuke. We think that this blade is 3rd generation of Gisuke.
