Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper)

Signature : Hizen Kuni Ju Oumi Daijyo Fujiwara Tadahiro.

Shinto : Jojo saku ranking : Oowazamono cutting test ranking : Hizen province.
The blade was polished by highest ranking polisher.
Blade length : 64.24 cm or 25.29 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.18 cm or 1.25 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.21 cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.25 inches.
Weight of only blade : 725 grams.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era.
Shape : The blade is wide(3.18 cm) and thick with Ookissaki style very attractive shape.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grayed with jinie attach and chikei work wonderful nice Jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha and noter soft feeling, Niedeki Cyuーsuguha(middle suguha) Notare hamon
with thick nioikuchi and sinagashi, kinsuji work.
Boshi is round shape with thick nioikuchi.

Special feature : Tadahiro the Second forged this katana.
He was born Heisakuro Hashimoto as a legitimate son of Tadayoshi the First.
Tadahiro was only19 years old when his father passed away in1632,
but he was enough skillful to forge sword at that time.
Tadahiro designated the Omi-Daijo in 1641, aged 29 and continued not only
forging sword but also supervised many students until his death in 1693, aged 80.
He is known as a skillful swordsmith almost all works are above the standard hizen-to.
He had been forged sword for a long period of time to leave
the largest number of swords among the swordsmiths of Hizen school.
He was good at both of Suguha-hamon and Gunome-midare Hamon.
Especially the beauty of jitetsu called konuka-hada is appreciated as the best among the hizen-to.
His swords are ranked at the Owaza-mono because of the sharpness.
This blade is healthy and nice balanced nice work. We strongly recommend this sword for you.
The blade is healthy without kizu and flow.

Koshirae : The Koshirae is good condition and nice fittings.
Tsuba : On the mokko style syakudo nanako plate,
rise up mimi and engraved Mt Fuji, temple, and so on by gold color.
Fuchikashira : Flying birds are engraved with gold color.
Saya : On the black color saya, bobbles design are made.
Menuki : Some plants are engraved by syakudo plate.
