Katana in Shirasaya(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 71.1 cm or 27.99 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.00 cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.76 cm or 0.69 inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Edo period.
Shape :  Regular size width and thickness. It is shallow curve katana. There are some suriage(tang cut shorten) on the nakago.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached. It is clear jigane.
Hamon : NIe base gunome midare hamon.

Special feature : Inoue shinkai was studied sword making from his father Kunisada (aka Oya Kunisada) For the first stage the Hamon and Jignae was as sama as his father's.
And later on, he made very attractive fat nioikuchi suguha hamon or wavy temper line.
As you know, Inoue shinkai and Sukehiro both sword makers are twin swords in Oosaka province. Especially Shinkai was called as Oosaka Masamune.
He was born at oosaka at Oosaka Kanei 7th and got the title of Izumi Kami and after that,his name was changed to Inoue shinkai at Kanbun 12th (1672) and passed away Tennwa 2,November 9th.
This blade looks oya kunisada and Inoue shinkai mixed up sword.
The blade is well Jigane and hamon.
