Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature:Mumei (Unsigned) (Tegai)

Sayagaki: Yamato Kuni Senmjyuin Jidai:Enbun no Koro Syowa 49th #1 Jyuho Token sitei.

The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki :Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 71.4 cm or 28.11 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Width at the hamachi : 2.90 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.98 cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.56 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura to early Nanbokucho period.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei (cut shortened) attributed as Tegai. Both sides of the blade has Bo-Hi is engraved.
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with jinie attach and chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha and Notare with thick nioikuchi.
In Hamon, there are many ashi, sunagashi ,kinnsuji work.

Special feature : This blade was attributed as Tegai school but I think the sayagaki is much better than that.
The Jigane is wonderful nice Jigane and suguha notare with thick nioikuchi. Inside of the Hamon is early stage of Tegai Kanenaga.
The blade is quite graceful sword.

Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the shakudo nanako plate, a tiger and bamboo are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira :On the shakudo nanako plate, a shish dog is engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black roiro saya.
Menuki : Probably on the sold gold, shishi dog is engraved.
Kogai : On the shakudo nanako plate, some flowers are engraved with gold color.
