Tanto: Senshu Mansai Saku

Tanto in Koshirae.
Signature : Senshu Mansai Saku
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to regular ranking.

The blade is polished.
Habaki : Copper single Habaki.
Blade length : 25cm or 9.84 inches.
Sori : 0.7 cm or 0.28 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.62 cm or 1.03 inches.
Kasane : 0.62 cm or  0.24 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : Sakizori style Shobu Zukuri style.
Jigane : Koitame-hada grained in moderation.
Hamon : Suguha based Gunome Midare though Hamon is not clear.

Special feature : This blade may be forged at later Edo period. We couldn't find enough documents about the swordsmith named Senshu Mansai.

Koshirae : Aikuchi Koshirae.
Saya : Russet color Saya with numberless tiny Imperial chrysanthemum emblem engraved.
Menuki : Shall carved on brass plate.
Kojiri: Prawn tail carved on copper plate.
