Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHKTokubetsu Kicho Paper)

Signature: Mumei (Edo Hojoji)

Habaki: copper single foiled habaki
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 71.4cm or 28.11 inches.
Sori : 2.1cm or 0.82 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.175cm or 1.24 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.12cm or 0.83 inches.
Kasane : 0.6cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Edo Kanbun period.
Shape : It is wide and thick form looking wakizashi with slight curve.
The kissaki is long ended. It is nice shape katana.
Jitetsu :Itame had well grained with inie attached.
There is flow of masa hada. The jigane is clear and sharp.
Hamon : Nie base gunome mixture with deep nioi line.

Special feature : Masahiro, Kaneshige and Yoshitsugu, are well known sword makers
as said Edo Hojyoji school. Edo Hojoji is nice and sharp blade. The Hamon looks like Kotetsu.
This blade is wide and thick.
