Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper, NBTHK Koshu Tokubetsu Kicho Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Enju)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 71.1 cm or 27.99 inches.
Sori : 1.4cm or 0.55inches.
Mekugi : 6
Width at the hamachi : 2.74 cm or 1.07 inches.
Wide at the Kissaki : 1.72cm or 0.68inches.
Kasane : 0.57 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Kamakura period.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(cut shortened).
The blade is regular sized width and long nice shape.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach
and clear Utsuri appear. Boshi is round shape.
Hamon : konie ground suguha. It is constructed
with deep nioivuchi with some koashi attached.
The ha is bright and clear and the condition is very good.

Special feature : Enjyu school was founded by Kunimura,
the grandson of Raikuniyuki, at Kamakura period
and lasted until Nanbokucho period. They made swords at Higo Kikuchi ward.
Some of the famous smithes are Kuniyoshi, Kunitoki, Kuniyasu and others.
This sword is elegant jigane with clear utsuri appearing.
The hamon is suguha with nice ashi which looks like Rai Kunitoshi.
