The blade was polished.
Habaki: Silver Kawari Habaki
Blade length : 74 cm or 29.13 inches.
Sori : 1.81 cm or 0.71 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.76 cm or 1.09 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.68 cm or 0.66 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Weight without Saya: 850grams.
Blade Weight: 595grams.
Shape : It is regular width and thickness with rather deep Sori. It is elegant shape Katana.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with Jinie attached. The Hada pattern is clearly appearing.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha Kicho with mixture of Gunome midare. Ashi and Double Ha is well attahced.
There is much activity concentrating on Monouchi area.
Boshi is Midare-KOmi irregular and sharp line hamon.

Special feature : Kashu Ietsugu is a sword smith of Kaga province who was active during late Muromachi period circa Kouji era(1555-1558).
He was also called Kaga Aoe. Utsuri is appearing on the Ji and the Hada pattern could be clearly observed.
This piece has much activity in the ha and it is in healthy condition.

Tsuba : Round thin shape Shakudo and copper tsuba.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo plate with dragon design engraved.
Saya : Black Roiro Saya.
Menuki : Copper plate with flower design engraved and inlaid with gold.
