Katana

Katana: Mumei Mino Senjyuin

Katana in Koshirae. (NBTHK Hozon paper)
Signature : Oosuriage Mumei(unsigned) atttributed as Mino Senjyuin.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword Mumei Mino Senjyuin belongs to Jyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Silver single Habaki.
Blade length : 70.5cm or 27.8 inches.
Sori : 1.6cm or 0.63 inches.
Mekugi : 3 
Width at the hamachi : 2.8cm or 1.1 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.96cm or 0.77inches.
Kasane : 0.68cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Early to mid Muromachi period.
Shape : The blade is Oosuriage Mumei (cut shortened) with Bo-hi and Soehi engraved on both sides of the blade.
Jigane : Itame hada and Mokume hada mixed with Jinie attach beautiful texture.
Hamon :Niedeki gunome midare and togari munome midare mixed.
In Hamon, there are many Sunagashi and Ashi work and also Kinsuji .
Special feature:Yamato Senjyuin sword makers moved to Mino province and made swords and influenced a lot from Mino school.
They made strong mixed up Mino and Senjuin school at that place Mino Akasaka. Mainly Akasaka Senjuin started from Nanbokucho period to late Muromachi period. This sword must be forged during early to mid Muromachi period.
The Jigane is very good like Naoe Shizu and nice active various Hataraki Gunome and Togari Gunome Midare mixed.
On the Sashiura 10cm from the Hamachi area, there is a Kizu but not so bad.

Koshirae :
Tsuba :On the round shape iron Tsuba, a Ume (plum) flower is engraved open work.
Menuki : A Shishi dog is engraved gold color (probably mordern)
Fuchikashira: On the iron plate, some design is engraved.
Saya: Black Ishime-ji Saya.
