Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

This Mumei Sekishu Sadatsuna belongs to Sadatsuna ranking.

The blade was polished
Habaki : Silver Single Foiled
Blade length : 67.7 cm or 26.65 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.90 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.81 cm or 1.1 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Nambokucho Period
Shape : It is O-Suriage mumei long remade Nagamaki katana. It is magnificent shape and wider towards the top.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with Ohada appearing.
Hamon : Nie deki gunome midare with ashi well attached. There is sunagashi and kinsuji works appearing.

Special feature : Sekishu Sadatsuna is a student of Sekishu Naotsuna.
He has made many works of Soshuden style with strong Nie pattern and many sungashi activities.
This work has bright and full of activities. It is big Kissaki tip and magnificent looking katana.
