Katana in Koshirae

Signature: Mumei (Shinshin-to)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 68.3 cm or 26.88 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.36cm or 1.32inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.38cm or 0.94inches.
Kasane : 0.78cm or 0.31inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : It is Ubu mumei katana wide and thick deep sori. It is long kissaki nice shape katana.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached.
Hamon : Nie structure gunome midare with mixture of kogunome midare. It is sharp gunome midare style. There is active sunagashi and yo. Boushi is midarekomi style.

Special feature : The katana looks like old sword from the jigane and hamon. It is late Edo period piece of work.

Koshirae : Unique pattern saya
Tsuba : Rouns shape iron tsuba with fine shinchu works engraved.
Fuchikashira : On iron plate, liner pattern is inlayed with silver.
Saya : Mixed color of red and black.
Menuki : Copper with pattern engraved.
