Katana: Mumei(Mihara)

The blade was polished
Habaki:gold double foiled habaki.
Blade length : 67.6cm or 26.61inches.
Sori : 1.4cm or 0.55inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.17cm or 1.25inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.33cm or 0.92inches.
Kasane : 0.68cm or 0.27inches.
Era :Early Muromachi Period
Shape : It is O-suriage(cut shorten) mumei sword.
It has much width and normal thickness.
Boushi is long end. It is strong looking katana.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with strong masa flaw.
Jinie is well attached with some chikei seen.
Hamon : Nie structure suguha hamon line. There are koashi well attached.
Many yo activities as well as Sunagashi, Kinsuji works could be observed.

Special feature : Mihara school was descended from Komihara school
and was active untill the middle Muromachi period.
The descended of Mihara is called Sue-Mihara which was active around late Muromachi period.
This sword is from early Muromachi period and the jigane is close to Masame.
Jinie is well attached and chike icould be seen. Hamon is suguha style
but there is flowing activities in the ha.
The sword could be attributed as older sword depend on the polish.
Nevertheless it is a fine condition sword with rich activities.

Koshirae :
Tsuba: Iron tsuba with rabbit and plant design engraved and there is also mountain
engraved as distant view. The country side of that period could be well observed.
Fuchikashira :Silver plate.
Saya : Black unique design saya
