Katana : Mutsu no kami Fujiwara Toshinaga

Shinto : Chujyosaku : Wazamono : Ise
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold inlay and silver dboule habaki
Blade length : 69.69 cm or 27.44 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.66 cm or 1.05 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.9 cm or 0.75 inches.
Kasane : 0.66 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period Circa Enpo(1673-1681)
Shape : It is regular width and thickness rather long kissaki. The Sori is shallow.
It is shape of Kanei to Kanbun era(1661-1624)
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached. It is clear hada.
Hamon : Nie structure gunome midare. Ashi is descending to the ha.
There is sunagashi works as well. Boushi is round end.

Special feature : Mutsu no kami Fujiwara Toshinaga is the second son of first generation Toshinaga.
He was originally from Tokushima and later on become successful in Kyoto and Ise,
Because the blades are sharp he was the popular smith at the time.
This piece is typical Toshinaga piece with some gunome midare with ashi at equal hight

Koshirae :
Tsuba : MOkko shape shakudo nanakoji tsuba with autumn plants engraved and inlayed with gold.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo nanakoji plate with flower design engraved and inlayed with gold.
Saya : Kairagi Saya.
Menuki : Shakudo plate wtih flower design engraved and inlayed with gold.
