The blade was polished
Habaki : Copper single habaki.
Blade length : 74.6 cm or 29.37 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.12 cm or 1.22 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.99 cm or 0.78 inches.
Kasane : 0.85 cm or 0.33 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick and long sized sword with long kissaki.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach nice clear texture.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midare and kogunome midare mixed.
Boshi is slightly midarekomi style.

Special feature : Koyama Munetosi was called Koyama So-suke and Go(nickname) is Taryu-shi.
According to the book, he was a older brother of Koyama Munetsugu.
He lived Ousyu Shirakawa province and passed away Meiji 3rd age 76 years.(According to the Shinshinto Taikan)
This sword has long nakago compare with regular sword because some sword makers were preparing battle.
Long Nakago is good balance for battling together.
The sword itself is very similar with Koyama Munetsugu and good condition and nice Hamon.

Koshirae : The sword Kosirae is typical Bakumatsu koshirae which is not fancy simple Koshirae.
Tsuba : On the oval plain syakudo Tsuba, rise up Mimi.
Fuchikashira : On the syakudo nanako plate, flowers are engraved with gold color.
Saya : On the black saya some pine needle style are painted by Urushi.
Menuki : A man is holding a Jyumonji Yari with gold color.
Kojiri:copper plate with Ishimeji.

Historical background : At Bunkyu 4th June. Shinsengumi attacked Ikedaya .
Shinsen-gumi was a group of samurai warriors based in Kyoto.
The group as young men pursuing their ideals. These members are consist of poor ronin andd farmer’s poor people as Tokugawa family’s army convoy.
