Katana in Shirasaya with Koshirae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Norimitsu (Osafune)

Sayagaki: Dr Kanzan: Bisyu Osafune Jyu Norimitsu 2 characters Jidai Kansyo era.
small Suriage wonderful work. The length of the blade is 2 Shaku 1 Sun
Showa 49(1974) Kanzan shi.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This sword : Norimitsu belongs to
Jyo-Jyo Saku ranking.

The blade was polished by good polisher.
Habaki: Gold foiled double Habaki.
Blade length : 63.48 cm or 24.99 inches.
Sori : 1.35 cm or 0.53 inches.
Mekugi :  2
Width at the hamachi : 2.59cm or 1.01 inches.
Width of the Kissaki: 1.74cm or 0.68 inches.
Kasane : 0.55cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period. Kansho Era(1460-1466)
Shape The blade is slightly Suriage(cut shorten) .
It is regular size with some Sori and long Kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane:Itame Hada and Mokume hada mixed and Masanagare
with Jinie attach and strong chikei work and also Utsuri appearing.
Hamon: Konie Deki Gunome and Choji Midare mixed with small Ashi, Yo work.
Boshi is Midarekomi(undulating) style.

Special feature :The founder of the Norimitsu started from late Kamakura period to Muromachi period.
This sword was made around Kansho Era which is well known Kansho Norimitsu.
The blade is healthy without Kizu and flow and active Gunome Choji Midare Hamon and clear Utsuri appearing.
We recommend this well grained nice Hamon sword.

Koshirae:
Tsuba:On the Mokko style Tsuba, painted by gold color.
Saya:Brown color Saya with pine needles and Abalone sparkles combined Kawarinuri saya.
Menuki:A dragon is engraved by syakudo plate.
Fuchi:On the Shibuichi plate, Cast off skin of a balm cricket. Kasira: Shakudo plate.
