Signature : Oite Nanki Shigekuni Zo NoFirst generation.
Shinto:Saijyo saki (highest) sword ranking:Ryowaza mono (very good cut well sword ranking)
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki:gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 68.18 cm or 26.84 inches.
Sori : 1.5 cm or 0.59 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.02 cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.20 cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanei era.
Shape : The blade is suriage(about 5cm) nakago wide and thick with suitable sori with longer kisaki nice looking shape.
Both sides of the blade, Bo-hi is engraved.
Jitetsu : Koitame had and mokume madam masa nagger with jinie attach and also Chikei work.
Hamon : Niedeki konotare and gunome midair with deep nioikuchi and in Ha,
there are ashi, sunagashi and kinsuji work. Boshi is round shape hakikake style.
Special feature : Nanki shigekuni is a stream of the Yamato Tegai school.
At first, he made swords at Subpu province and At Genna era, he moved to Kisyu Wakayama province followed with Daimyo Tokugawa Yorinobu.
His subjects are suguha hamon mainly because he belonged to succeed Yamato school.
But sometimes he made Sosyu den style which is very active Gunome midair with thick nioikuchi with sunagashi and kinsuji.
At that time he made very long swords but the order of Syogun the blade were cut shortened like this sword.
According to the Jyuyo zufu, The blade is Sosyu school eight lot of activities with sunagashi and kinsuji.
The blade is very clear and looks like Shizu.
He is very skillful sword maker both Yamato den and also Sosyu den.
It is very difficult to obtain Sosyu den style swords.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the round shaped syakudo plate, some design is engraved open work.
Fuchikashira : Syakudo plate with some design.
Saya : Kawarinuri saya.
Menuki : Bonji is engraved by syakudo plate.
Historical background : The era was changing from Toyotomi Hideyoshi to SyogunTokugawa .
