Naginata : The Signature is ware (Mumei: Bungo Ryokai)

Naginata in Shirasaya with Koshirae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Paper)

Signature : The Signature is ware (Mumei: Bungo Ryokai)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 52.41 cm or 20.63 inches.
Sori : 2.51cm or 0.98 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.57 cm or 1.01 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period Circa Oei (1368-1374).
Shape : There is mild sori curviture. It is Katakiri ba(one side flat) rare Naginata
Jitetsu :Itame hada well grained with soft and mat jigane.
Hamon : Nie deki suguha with Komaru curve.

Special feature : The signature has mark that it was cut. Now it is worn down and not readable
however it is big naginata and Katakiri ba. BUngo Ryokai is aldo called Tsukushi Ryokai.
There is soft jigane. This is rare Naginata in that it is long Katakiriba work.
There is no kizu or flaws.

Historical Background: Ouei 2nd year January, Kusunoki Masashige has surrendered
Kusunogi Masashige was a key player of the Kenmu restoration along with Ashikaga Takauji.
