Tanto in Shirasayaw with Koshirae (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 30.0 cm or 11.81 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.50 cm or 0.98 inches.
Kasane : 0.46 cm or 0.18 inches.
Era : Ouei era.
Shape : It is wide and thick with shallow sori.
THere is Bohi engraving on both sides.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grianed with jinie attahced.
There is some faint Utsuri work appearing.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha. Boshi is round end.

Special feature : The founder of the Iesuke started late Nanbokucyo period to middle Muromachi period.
This blade is early Muromachi period which belongs to Kozori bizen school.
The signature is very clear and the Yasurime filing pattern could be viewed well.
It is hard to beleive that it is sowrd that had more than 590 years of history. It is nice condition tanto.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Mokko shape silver Tsuba.
Fuchikashira and Kojiri: Shibuichi plate, wave and plover are engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black color Kizami Saya.
Menuki : crane is engraved with gold and silver color.
Kozuka : Shibuichi plate, wave and shell are engraved with gold color.
Kogatana : Bushu Ju Sekido ? Morihisa.

Historical background: It was a peaceful time between Oei 10th year to 22nd year without any battles.
