(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Kanesada belongs to Saijyosaku ranking.

Habaki : Gold single foiled habaki
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 19.9 cm or 7.83 inches.
Sori : 0.2 cm or 0.08 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 1.89 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.67 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period Circa Eisho (1504-1520)
Shape : It is wide and thick Mitsumune style. It is small size healthy tanto.
Jitetsu : Ko Itame hada well grained with JInie attached. Chikei work is well attached.
It is Shirake fog and like Utsuri of appearing in stick shape.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha. Koashi is well attached, Boshi is round end.

Special feature : Kanesada(Second generation also known for the signature Nosada) is the child of first generation Kanesada.
He was called Yoshi Uemon no Jyo but by the early Meio period(1492-1501) he has signed his signature Kanesada.
He has received the post of Izumi Kami.
Both Seki Magoroku and Izumi Kami Kanesada were the head of Mino school sword
smiths and their swords are ranked Saijyosaku and Saijyo Owazamono.
Durin Edo Period, Kanesada work was called Senryo Kanesada which was the object of envy,
Many Daimyos such as Takeda Nobutora, Shibata Katsuie, Akechi Mitsuhide, Hosokawa Yusai, Hosokawa Tadaoki.
Hijikata Toshizo, one of Shinsengumi or Shogunate military members,
have been holding the 11th generation of Kanesada at the end of Shogunate.
When the Kotetsu katana was 50 ryo(a unit of old Japanese coinage.) Kanesada Katana was 1000 ryo.
It is different to modern katana.
This work is 2nd generation Kanesada first generation. It is healthy tanto.
If it is polished again, the condition will be very nice.
Please have the Mino Saijyosaku and Saijyo Owazamono second generation Kanesada.
