Tanto : Mumei (Den-Tametsugu)

Tanto in Shirasaya(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature : Mumei (Den-Tametsugu)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Mumei (Den-Tametsugu) belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 22.6 cm or 8.89 inches.
Sori : 0.1 cm or 0.03 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.40 cm or 0.94 inches.
Kasane : 0.40 cm or 0.15 inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period Ouan era period.
Shape : The blade shape is wide. And Mitsu-mune style.
Jitetsu : Itame hada and Ooitame hada mix with Jinie and Chikei.
This Jigane is Matsukawa hada.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with many Ashi.
The ha becomes double and triple ha with much sunagashi and kinsuji activities.
Boshi is midarekomi style.

Special feature : Tametsugu is reported as a son of the Go Yoshihiro and studied under the Norishige.
His subjects are gunome midair with thick nioikuchi ooitame hada.
Although the blade as Norishige has been appraised, but it is different to the estimation
of the NBTHK which they written Den- Tametsugu.
The blade is Soshu den Matsukawa hada with much sunagashi and kinsuji activities.
The work is fine and healthy work that could go to higher level.
