Tanto in Shirasaya with Mr.Kanzan sensei’s Sayagaki. (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper)

Signature: Mumei(Unsigned)(Hasebe school)

Sayagaki: Hasebe Kuninobu Tadashi Ubu-Nakago, Mumei nari. Jidai Enbun no koro.
Hacho 9sun 5bu ari kore.
Showa Kinoe-Tora Shiwasu, Kanzan shirusu Kao.
Iwakura Judai Kaho no hitotsunari. Kyu-raisho Masamune mono nari, Kanzan shirusu Kao.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 28.77 cm or 11.32 inches.
Sori : 0 cm or 0 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.71 cm or 1.06 inches.
Kasane : 0.47 cm or 0.18 inches.
Era : Nanbokucho period.
Shape : Ubu-Nakago. This blade is wide and massive, Mitsumine style Tanto. The blade shape is very nice.
Jitetsu : Textured Itame works, and Chikei attach. There is Utsuri on Jitetsu.
Hamon : Ko-nie based, Gunome and Tobiyaki mix, and become Hitatsura style.
There are many Sunagashi and Kinsuji. Boshi is round shaped Hakikake style.

Special feature : It is said that Hesebe Kuninobu was a son or young brother of Hasebe Kunishige who was a one of “Masamune Juttetsu” (the best 10 swordsmith of Masamune school).
And his blades were very similar to Kunishige.

Also this blade is very similar to Kunishige.
This blade is excellent Soshuden style and Hitatsura Hamon.
This blade has passed NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token as Hasebe in November 2009.
And this blade may pass the Juyo Token.
