Tanto in Shirasaya, with Koshirae. (#26th NBTHK Juyo Paper)

Signature : Moriyoshi
Sayagaki was done by Honma Kunzan sensei : Hirado Sa Moriyoshi the length of the blade is 8 sun 9 bu Kunzan shi.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Tanto Moriyoshi belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 26.96 cm or 10.61 inches.
Sori : 0.15 cm or 0.05 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.94 cm or 1.15 inches.
Kasane : 0.61 cm or 0.24 inches.
Era : Late Nanbokucyou to early Muromachi period.
Shape : Wide Hiratsukuri Tanto. Ubu Nakago.
There are Gomabashi, Koshi-Hi and Soe-Hi.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach and visible to see the texture well.
On the Ji, shirake utsuri appear.
Hamon : Gunome midair round shape and togari mixed with kinsuji work.
Boshi is Midarekomi, Togari gokoro shape and yakisage style.

Special feature : Moriyoshi was a student of the Sa school and moved to Hirado
The signature is very clear and special feature of the Sa school.
Boshi is typical Sa school togari hamon.
It is very precious signature and good data.
The blade is active gunome midare with Kinsuji in Ha.
The signature is very precious for data of Sa school.
This Tanto cherished by his deceased Mr Kajyo Suzuki former NBTHK curator.

Koshirae :
Fuchikashira : Horn.
Saya : Black roar saya.
Menuki : On the round shape syakudo nanako plate, a sparrow and bamboo tree are engraved with gold color.
