Heisei 8nenn 8gatsu hi (August, 1996)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 27.0 cm or 10.62 inches.
Sori : cm or inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.6 cm or 1.02 inches.
Kasane : 0.59 cm or 0.23 inches.
Era : Modern period.
Shape : It is mitsumune style with bohi at both side of the blade.
Jitetsu : Itame hada well grained with jinie attached. The pattern in the hada could be well observed.
Hamon : Nie ground suguha with some koashi put. There are activities such as sunagashi and kinsuji seen.

Special feature : Tatsugoyama Junin Masahira, his real name Masahiro has been a pride of Fukushima prefecture
for his career as a sword smith. He has been studying under the human national treasure Miyairi Yukihira
and have learned skills that leads to winning the prize at the newly made masterpiece sword exhibition.
He has won the prize of effort, prize of excellence, encouragement award and the chairman prize.
This sword is thick and wide strong looking piece. It is incredible sword.
