Tanto in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature: Mumei (Yamato school Shinshinto)

The blade was polished by good polisher.
Habaki: silver single habaki.
Blade length : 22.8 cm or 8.97 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 1.75 cm or 0.68 inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era :Late Edo period.
Shape : The blade is rather slender and thick attractive shape.
Jitetsu :Masame had well grained with jinie attach and chikei along with jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha and small nezumiashi work.
Boshi is round hakikake style.

Special feature : The blade has long nakaggo nd Masame had which looks like Koto Hsyo
style. but the Jigane and Hamon both rather tight feeling.
I think the blade must be Shinshinto koto copy.
The Jigane is Masame hada quite impressed nice Jigane.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
If you like the Masame had Tanto, we strongly recommend this Tanto.
Recently it is very hard to buy Masame hada Tanto.
