(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saki)This Awataguchi Oumi Kami Tadatsuna belongs to Jyo-jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki : gold foiled and silver double habaki.
Blade length : 53.0 cm or 20.86 inches.
Sori : 1.4 cm or 0.55 inches.
Mekugi :  1
Width at the hamachi : 3.03cm or 1.19 inches.
width of the Kissaki: 2.21cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.73 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Edo period Genroku era.
Shape :The blade is rather wide and thick with good meat healthy blade.
Hamon Niedeki suguha from the Hamachi and then gunome midare
and choji midare mixed with sunagashi and small kinsuji work.
Boshi is round shape.

Special feature : First generation Awataguchi Tadatuna started at Osaka
and 2nd generation his son succeeded 2nd generation.
At Genroku era, he changed his name to Ikkannsi Tadatsuna.
He is very skillful swordsmith making Doranba and also gunome midare with thick nioikuchi.
He also made engraving on the sword. Swords collectors aspire Tadatsuna.
This sword is composed with Ashinaga Choji midare with a lot of sunagashi,
kinsuji which is one of the best quality blade.

Historical background: Tenmei 4th, (1748)in Edo castle, Tanuma Okitomo
who is a son of the Tanuma Okitsugu was killed by Sano Masanobu
by using 2nd generation Oumi Kami Tadatsuna .
Daimyo and Bushi who had antipathy againest Tanuma Okitsugu(one who has succeeded
many financial recovery for Edo Bakuhu but received a lot of money under the table)
has worshipped as Daimyojin god.
It is said that many Daimyo collected 2nd generation Tadatsuna.
Muramasa also can say the same thing.
