Wakizashi in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon paper)

Signature: Bushu Ju Terushige.

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Copper double habaki.
Blade length : 47.4 cm or 18.66 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.24 cm or 1.27 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.65 cm or 1.04 inches.
Kasane : 0.83 cm or 0.32 inches.
Weight of only blade : 525 grams.
Era : Late Muromachi to early Edo period.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick Hirauchi style long wakizashi.
Jitetsu : Itame had well grained with jinie attach blackish jigane.
Hamon : Koniedeki gunome midair ash and deep nioikuchi
Boshi is round shape.

Special feature : The founder of the Busyu sword started
from Muromachi Eisyo era and continued to Edo.
Yasushige, Terushige Hiroshige are well known sword makers
and also Musashi Taro Yasukuni is well known sword maker in Edo Kanbun era.
This Terushige was working at the end of Muromachi period.
The jigane is well grained item had and blackish jigane with dark hamon cut well sword.
Before Mr Goto who passed away working at NBTHK was studying Shitahara sword.
Because he lived Hachip-ji area which is well known Shitahara sword makers were working.
It is regretting that he passed away.
This blade is healthy gorgeous sword unusual shape.
