Wakizashi : Harima no kami Kanetaka

Wakizashi in Shirasaya (NBTHK Hozon Paper)

Signature: Harima no kami Kanetaka.(Shinto, Chu-josaku, Mino province.)

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 43.6 cm or 17.16 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi: 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.27 cm or 1.28 inches.
Kasane : 0.45 cm or 0.17 inches.
Era : Early Edo period. About Kan-ei era.(about1624)
Shape : This blade is wide Shobu-zukuri style Wakizashi.
Suken is engraved on the sashi-omote side. Futasuji-hi is engraved on the Sashi-ura side.
Jitetsu : Itame had well grained with jinie attach.
There is faint Utsuri on Jitetsu.
Hamon : Nie based, Suguha and Ko-midare mixed.
There are a few Uchinoke in Ha.
Boshi is Hakikake and tight Kaeri style.
Habaki: Made with wood.

Special feature : Harima Kami Kanetaka was working early Edo period at Mino province.
The blade looks like masatsune.The sword is healthy and nice work.

Historical background: Historical background: In 1616, Tokugawa Ieyasu passed away.
