(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku, Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Inoue Izumi Kami Kunisada belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.

Shinto : Saijyosaku : Settsu
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Blade length : 54.4 cm or 21.41 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.03 cm or 1.19 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.27 cm or 0.89 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Edo period, Kanbun 10 (1668)
Shape : It is wide and thick work and kissaki is long. It is healthy wakizashi.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached with chikei work.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha, Notare-Ha and double-Ha with sunagashi and kinsuji scatter. Round hakikake style boshi with deep Nioiguchi.

Special feature : Inoue Shinkai was active from Kanei 7th period to
Tenna 2nd period Settsu. He was active at Settsu until Tenna 2nd year.
His father was Izunomikami Kunisada. His real name is Inoue Hachirobe Yoshitsugu.
He was a famous sword smith at the time as one of the two greatest authorities
at the time along with Tsuda Echizon no kami Sukehiro.
He was called the Osaka Masamune. While there are many Sukehiro pieces
it was rare to see Shinkai pieces. It is most beloved swords of the sword lovers.
He was allowed to put the chrysanthemum crest on the swords that
he has presented to the court.
He has changed his name to Shinkai at Kanbun 12th year.
This sword was made two years ago before he has changed his name.
He exceeded his father's works for its quality.
This blade's jigane is very well, hamon is deep Nioiguchi. This is good work.
