Shinshinto : Jyosaku ranking : Musashi province.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 59.6 cm or 23.46 inches.
Sori : 1.2 cm or 0.47 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.90 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.16 cm or 0.85 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : It is wide and thick with some curve.
It is quite long wakizashi which is very close to katana.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached, There are some delicate chikei words are seen along the hada texture.
The jigane is clear.
Hamon : Nie base gunome irregular line mix.
There are kinsuji and sunagashi works.

Special feature : Jyokeishi Masaaki, his real name Takemura Tsunejirou, was a feudal warrior of Sakushuu Tsuyama domain. He was a best pupil of Hosokawa Masayoshi.
He lived in Edogawa province.
His pieces are similar to those of his master which most pieces have Jyukka Choji hamon .
The nakago yasuri scrape is clear like his master.
This piece has clear jyukka shoji wild hamon and the ashi or feet is well seen in the ha.
The kinsuji in the ha and the irregular line temper line is imitation of his old pieces.
It is gorgeous sword. The length is almost as same as kana katana size.
On Masaaki's pieces, many signature that is engraved "It is well forged. The cutting test is made by the antler of the deer.
It is not known if the cutting test was done by cutting the antler or used some poles to cut.
What ever it is used, it is nice and sharp blade.

Historical background : At 1866, Keiou 2nd year January 21st, the Satsuma domain and Choushuu domain has join in alliance.
At January 23st, Ryoma Sakamoto, the supporter of noble cause during Edo period,
was attacked by the Ongyoku Bugyou, the magistrate group.
He was almost assassinated until his wife Ryo told him that the magistrate were surrounding them at Teradaya.
