Wakizashi: Kaneyoshi 'Orikaeshi-Mei'

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon paper) (consignment sale)
Signature : Kaneyoshi (Orikaeshi-mei)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijo saku, Jojo saku, Jo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jo saku ranking.

The blade is polished by good polisher.
Habaki : Gold foiled double Habaki.
Blade length : 47.3cm or 18.62 inches.
Sori : 0.6 cm or 0,24 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the Hamachi : 2.58 cm or 1.02 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.87 cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0.53 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Around Muromachi period Eisho era or before. (1504~1520)
Shape : The blade is Orikaeshi-mei (The tang was folded back inside when shortened and remained the signature)
Jigane :Itame-hada and Masame-hada mixed nice Jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki Suguha with Notare Hamon. Boshi is round shape.

Special feauture : The founder of the Kaneyoshi started from Nanbokucho period to late Muromach period Eiroku era.
From the shape and Jigane, the sword seems to be forged more earlier then Eisho era.
The blade is polished perfectly nice Jigane with Utsuri appear.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Full moon and the clouds, and also the cherry blossoms are engraved on the round shape Yamagane Tsuba.
Fuchi-kashira : Swallow carved on Yamagane plate with gold color.
Saya : Dark red Hakeme Saya.
Menuki : Plum flowers carved on Shakudo plate with gold color.
